![]() ![]() I sold off a bunch of good modules figuring I could replace it with an ER-301, then filled available space with a bunch of stuff I didn't need. Hertz Donut mk2 & Double Helix: the main casualties in the biggest misstep of my modular journey. Three Sisters: probably one of the nicest filters I've tried I sold it because I foolishly thought "I don't really want to do subtractive synthesis" and "that's what filters are for" But again, it's OK now - I am really happy with Blades as a primary filter plus Katowice and Lacrima Versio. I've pondered getting another Warps off and on since then, told myself I don't need it, that I can use the one in VCV Rack etc. Warps: I sold it when I thought I preferred other wavefolders and didn't need its other functions. The second one had knobs that weren't as loose, so in the long run I actually don't regret it. Missed the sound a lot, bought a second one 5 months later. Kermit: I sold it when I thought I had all the oscillators and LFOs I needed. ![]() If I had disposable income, or if these things were cheaper in the first place, I wouldn't get rid of anything! I'm not comfortable with casual synthing. The urge to sell things off is usually driven by the want of something new. I have a very hard time justifying gear that is really nice, but just doesn't get used. I think it all comes down to the money that is tied up in the stuff that I own. The only time I do pull it out, is when I feel like I have to use it, because I bought it back. But it's currently sitting on a shelf with little to no plans to use it again. I also sold my Hydrasynth, and bought it back from the same person 3 months later! I told myself I'd never sell it again if I actually bought it back. Problem is, there are still legit reasons why I sold those off to begin with and I try to remind myself of that when the regret hits. And I'm currently arguing with myself whether I should sell off my Pulsar 23. I kinda regret selling off an Octatrack, an OB6, Fusion System 2, and the 4MS DLD.
